Continuing the sequel, this game starts as Aloy and her partner Erend explore the ruins of San Francisco looking for an artifact. The landmark in the trailer can be seen destroyed, Golden Gate Bridge that’s been overtaken by greenery, and the Palace of Fine Arts ruined and underwater.
Also Aloy wants to uncover the cause of a strange crimson blight that is killing off plants, animals, tribes and which turns the weather to non-stop superstorms. In her new journey, she will meet a hostile tribe of humans who are able to override machines and new types of machines as she searches for a way to cure the blight.
What’s new in Horizon: Forbidden West?

Aside from Aloy’s standard bow, arrow, and Ropecasters, Aloy will have a few new toys in her arsenal. The new tools that help her on her way includes the Pullcaster that speeds up climbing, getting her quickly out of trouble; the Shieldwing, an impressive holographic-esque glider that Aloy can whip out allows her to safely descend from great heights (or surprise enemies from above).
And she has also the Diving Mask, a whole new underwater world is open for exploration where she gets to dive underwater for long stretches. The huge selection of weapons and gear will give you “tactics and choice” when it comes to dealing with the challenges of this new world.
Another huge addition to the Horizon Forbidden West definitely can’t miss out the new ‘Arena’ feature. The Arena is a large open theatre where many of the natives gather to watch some incredible fights. Aloy will now be able to fight against greater and more powerful monster-like machines during the course of many fights. In these combats, You are required to enter the ring and face various combat challenges under a specific time limit that unlocks rare features. The main purpose for having combat mode is to bring ranged and melee combat closer together.
Challenges of Horizon: Forbidden West

There will be various trials that you need to face and complete in the West. Aloy’s journey will take you to the standard assortment of rebel outposts and camps, you will also have to face melee challenge pits and mysterious ruins.
In every settlement, it’s better to get to know the local customs and grab new gear to be ready for any situation. Make sure you’re properly armed, or maybe even getting some upgrades while you’re at it. Drill with your spear in the melee pit.
Be extra careful, the West is overrun by Regalla and her rebels, between their outposts and their camps, they’re a whole heap of trouble. Ruins, cauldrons are everywhere. So wherever your trail leads, watch yourself out there. And Good Luck.
